LAND CLASSIFICATION OF THE LAKE DAKOTA PLAIN IN SOUTH DAKOTA WITH REMOTE SENSING METHODS

摘要

Research has been conducted by the Remote Sensing Institute for the last four years to investigate the use of remote sensing data for making land use decisions in the Lake Dakota Plain of South Dakota. These studies have verified the feasibility of detecting and mapping the principal soil limitations in the area from aerial photography. This report presents a method which integrates the detection of soil limita-tions into a land classification system based on photo interpretation.
