A FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF BODIES OF REVOLUTION A COMPARISON BETWEEN CURRENTLY USED TYPES OF ELEMENTS

In this article three types of elements are reviewed, used in the stress analysis of bodies of revolution. The details of calculations with regard to stiffness and stress matrices, force integrals, and the relationship between the displacement field and degrees of freedom are evaluated.nSeveral theoretical examples and practical applications to pressure vessel cons-striations have been treated.
