STUDY OF FEED SYSTEMS FOR HIGH GAIN ANTENNAS

The report describes development of computer software for analysis of feed arrays for multiple-beam or contoured-beam antennas and gives data for possible elements of such arrays.nTwo approaches for calculating the radiation from rotational sym¬metric feed elements protruding from a ground plane are presented. In one method a calculation is carried out by means of an existing general-purpose method-of-^moments program for a finite circular flange and the effects of the flange are then removed by ray-optical considerations. In the other method a system of integral equations are formulated to allow analysis of dielectrically loaded feed elements. In this case some problems remain-in obtaining numeri¬cally stable solutions .
