Measurements of the dynamic field at the exit section of a heated turbulent axisymmetric free jet with the mean temperature ranging from the ambient to 500 C are presented. The experimental setup and signal processing are explained. Measurements of velocity fluctuations show the influence of the mean temperature increase. For hot flows at constant Reynolds number, an additional dependence of the turbulence intensity on the temperature is observed. This result is unconventional since in classical turbulence studies the temperature effect is already involved in the Reynolds number by the bias of the kinematic viscosity. Power spectra also show some dependence on the temperature at constant Reynolds number.
