摘要

An accurate and economical hybrid finite element is developed for the bending analysis of thin plates. To reduce the computational cost of the hybrid element, the element properties are represented in an algorithmic form which enables the automatic generation of the stiffness matrix without numerical integration. By using this automatic generation facility, a series of stress and displacement fields are considered and their effects on the performance of the element are analyzed for the solutions of typical test problems. The element which provides the most efficient solutions for both displacements and stresses is recommended for general-purpose program libraries.
