摘要

An adaptative method based on the law of natural selection for improving the efficiency of the random search in stochastic methods to solve parameter optimization problems is outlined. The optimal strategy for living beings to adapt to their environment is based on genetic rules, and their emulation leads to genetic algorithms. The mutation-selection, the crossover-selection and the mutation-crossover-selection algorithms were applied to flight mechanics problems. Considerable effort is needed for developing efficient schemes using genetic algorithms. Genetic algorithms appear to offer a way to solve a large class of global optimization problems and are particularly well suited for parallel processing to be used in fifth generation computers.
