Packet-Switched Wide-Area Communication Network Simulator

摘要

A simulator for analyzing the delay/throughput characteristic in models of wide-area communication networks employing packet switching technique is presented. Elements of the modelled networks are switching nodes and communication channels. Besides virtual circuit and window control, the simulator features piggybacked acknowledgement of multiple information frames; two-way information exchange with tunable intensity and unbalanced burstiness between the traffic streams; and centralized admission control into the transport network at both packet and session level. Voice/data integrated environment is also considered.
