摘要

Fatigue tests on flat specimens were executed to evaluate the effect of stress relieving, grinding, TIG dressing, overstressing, and shot peening. The test conditions as well as the specimen dimensions represent the real situation of a pressurized tank on saddle support during transport. Results are used to produce practical recommendations to the manufacturer who intends to take advantage of higher strength materials for the construction of road transport tanks and tank wagons.
