The different programs carried out to harness the complex technologies involved are reviewed. The cryogenic 4 K technological areas involved in the development of the suboptical system and camera include materials and coatings, junctions, optics attachment devices, dimensional stability, absorptive coatings, reflective coatings, thermal connections (mirror straps) and tightness of the helium circuits.
