Editing Objects of Hierarchical Structured Drawing

Current interactive drawing programs are discussed. An approach which allows theuser to select and edit objects at each level of the hierarchy is presented. The main concept, 'a current object', allows the user to travel through the hierarchical structure of the drawing in order to select objects at each level of the hierarchy. This approach not only enables the users to use the hierarchical structure that corresponds to their mental representation, but also eliminates some inconsistencies in the current drawing programs. A drawing program was made in which the proposed way of 'structure editing' was realized. The first impressions of this implementation are discussed.
