Summary of Astronauts' Inputs Concerning Automation: As Assessment of the Potential for Increased Productivity

The Advanced Development Program staff at Headquarters recognized a need to ensure that program activities strongly correlated with space station onboard and ground support user community needs as the Space Station evolves. The objective was to calibrate advanced development activities for the space state by: 1) reviewing lessons learned from previous manned space experiences and analogs; 2) gain further insight from the Space Station user community on needs/desires; and 3) strengthen A&R advocacy within the astronaut office.
