Continuing studies of planetary atmospheres associated with experiments on the Galileo Jupiter Probe and infrared observations of Venus

Progress is reported with regards to the Galileo Mission Probe Nephelometer Experiment and the Venus infrared observations made with the Pioneer-Venus OCPP (orbiter cloud photopolarimeter) imagery obtained in June 1988. Laboratory measurements to document more completely the Stokes parameters of the sources in the Engineering Unit instrument were completed for the analysis of the Galileo Mission Probe Experiment data. Programs were completed for extracting NEP data from the Probe data. A set of more than 25 projected images was obtained from the Pioneer-Venus OCPP, covering a period of 8 days. These images are being analyzed to determine feature velocities as a function of latitude and to produce imagery of correlation coefficients of the features present in successive images.
