Mineralogical Investigation of a Variety of Materials Using Analytical Electron Microscopy (AEM)

Understanding the origins of Life requires a good understanding of the physics and chemistry of biogenic low-z elements H, C, N, 0, P, S in terrestrial environments, on Mars, on extra-terrestrial bodies such as meteorite parent bodies and comets, and in interstellar space. Under this Cooperative Agreement six tasks have formed a coherent program aimed at elucidating various aspects of low-z element geo- and cosmochemistry with special reference to the origin of Life on Earth and to the search for life on Mars.
