摘要

Germanium/electrolyte contact properties are studied by superimposition of an alternating voltage on electrode potential and by registration of the alternating light component in the modulated absorption spectrum. This method observes only processes in the penetrated space charge zone of the semiconductor, directly on semiconductor surface, and in the GOUY-layer of the electrolyte. Measured internal reflection signals are composed of, absorption through free carriers, absorption through charge carriers that occupy or vacate surface states, and absorption through electrolyte molecules. The addition of impurity ions produces a complicated absorption spectrum that does not coincide with free charge carrier absorption.
