Integrated Study of the Grayburg/San Andres Reservoir, Foster and South Cowden Fields in Ector County, Texas, Class II

Laguna Petroleum, shows that a small independent producer could use modern geoscience techniques to economically increase oil production and add reserves through optimization of a very mature waterflood. The subject oil field was the Grayburg reservior of the Foster-South Cowden field, which has produced since 1938 and waterflooded since 1962. The total cost to date of the new project including 3D seismic, new drills, deepenings, woekovers and technical support has been aproximately $3 million. The incremental barrels produced and future additional reserves were developed at a cost of $3.80 per barrel.
