Review: Process development 1.25% enriched co-product driver fuel

Engineering Specifications for fabrication of the present standard fuel designs must be modified for fabrication of 1.25% enriched co-product driver fuels. To provide a basis for these modifications a general review of the process development work completed and in progress in those areas where major processing or design changes occurred is presented. The process areas of prime concern include the billet assembly-extrusion areas the end closure area, and the support system-final assembly area. A review of specific exceptions to the present Quality Control Standards required for driver fuel fabrication is also included in lids report for production control purposes.
