A two channel, two frequency, eddy current, tubing nondestructive test device is described in which the undesirable effect of test probe wobble signals is reduced on both channels. A novel analyzer circuit or signal transformation section is used for the successive elimination of parameters. The tester is flexible in operation and can be operated using either of its two test frequencies, 100 kHz and 300 kHz singly, or both simultaneously. When operated in its single frequency modes, two test parameters, for example probe wobble, and the presence of defects giving signals having components in quadrature with probe wobble signals may be separated.
