摘要

A Nb—1%Zr boiling-potassium forced-circulation loop, incorporating a test section with three stages of nozzles and simulated turbine blades, was operated for 3000 hr. The nozzles were designed to provide potassium vapor over the quality range of 83 to 97% and temperature range of 1016 to 682°C (i860 to 1260°F) to impinge on the Nb—1% Zr simulated blade specimens. Potassium vapor at the test section inlet was normally maintained at 1082°C (l980°F), but periods of unstable boiling with resultant loop temperature fluctuations occurred throughout the loop operation.
