摘要

The technical feasibility has been shown for detecting pollutants present in automobile exhausts at concentrations below the projected standards for 1975. In a laboratory test system, a concentration of 125 ppm CO was detected by a PdCl2 Kryptonate ® sensor, and 2 ppm NOx was detected by a hydroquinone clathrate sensor. A PtO2 Kryptonate sensor detected 13 ppm C3H8 and was sensitive to hydrocarbon molecular weight. Interferences were absent.nA survey of available instruments and of requirements for automobile exhaust pollutant monitoring shows that a need exists for an instrument with the capabilities envisaged for a Kryptonate-based instrument.
