Dynamic Model of the Basic Oxygen Steelmaking Furnace

A dynamic model was developed for the Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF), considering the temperature and the concentrations of the various constituents of the hot metal bath and slag. The turbulent motion of the hot metal, the oxidation effect of the slag, the effect due to the position of the oxygen lance, and the amount of air engulfed into the furnace are also taken into account.
