Some Measurements Pertaining to the Propagation of Seismic Signals over Short Distances in Soils

A vertical array of thirteen 3-axis geophones was used to investigate the propagation of low-level seismic signals over short distances (less than 100 feet) in a sandy soil. Sinusoidal and impulsive sources were used for the measurement of transfer impedances, velocities, and trajectories. Also, waveforms and spectra were obtained for signals generated by a man walking, a truck, and an aircraft.
