Performance Testing of Commercial Equipment for In-Vessel Neutron Monitoring in Fast Reactors

This report describes progress made at HEDL in a testing program to evaluate the performance of commercially available neutron detectors and cables in the gamma and temperature environments (10 R/hr and 300°F) expected at the in-vessel FFTF neutron sensor location.nSix detector-cable preamplifier systems were tested over periods ranging from six to eleven months.
