Industrial International Data Base the Plastics Industry Rational Use of Energy Program Pilot Study

摘要

This report presents the results of a study of energy con¬sumption in the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in Italy, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Comparative data on energy consumption have been assembled, and a series of recommendations for R&D work related to the efficient use of energy in the chemical industry has been developed.nThis study forms part of the Industrial International Data Base Project, itself a subproject of the NATO/CCMS Rational Use of Energy Program. Other industries that have been studied are cement and steel. The major objectives of the Data Base Project are to collect data on industrial energy con¬sumption for specific industries in different countries, to identify and analyze significant differences in energy con¬sumption, to document technology-transfer ideas, and to develop recommendations for research and development of energy-efficient technology in major industrial sectors.
