摘要

The use of a liquid Li ISSEC (Internal Spectral Shifter and Energy Convertor) to protect the first walls of laser fusion reactors has been proposed by scientists at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory. The initial concept involves a 'waterfall' of liquid lithium ranging in thickness from 10-50 cm. dropping from the top of a laser fusion reactor to be collected at the bottom of the reaction chamber. The purpose of the waterfall is many folds, and a few of the most obvious reasons are listed below.
