Application and System Design Study For Cost-Effective Solar Photovoltaic Systems at Federal Installations Preliminary Report

Preliminary surveys at Federal installations were made by individual agencies with technical assistance provided by the Department of Energy. Educational seminars were conducted for six consecutive weeks for interested Federal agency personnel. The objective of the seminar was to present an overview of photovoltaics, to identify current and future applications, and to determine life-cycle cost-effectiveness of specific applications. At the completion of the seminar the Federal agency representatives returned to on-site locations to identify their specific applications and to determine life-cycle cost-effectiveness, and then to prepare and forward formal proposals to the Department of Energy.
