Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Program. Progress Report for Period January 1-March 31, 1979: EMF And Temperature Relaxation in LiKCO sub 3 Tiles; Transference Cell Measurements

Progress has been made in resolving the thermoelectric contributions to the relaxing EMF of electrolyzed LiKCO sub 3 -LiAlO sub 2 tiles in a study of mass transport in molten carbonate fuel cell electrolytes. The thermoelectric effect is a measurable contribution, but only in the early stages of the relaxation that we have attributed to diffusion. Preliminary measurements with the transference EMF cell are reported along with estimates of the transference number in LiKCO sub 3 . (ERA citation 05:007302)
