A Container Module Handler and Charger in the Plutonium Protection System

The PPS Container Module uses a dynamic identification number stored in a volatile electronic memory. A special handler was needed to provide power to the container during transfer and to provide a safe, firm grip. The report details the operation and design of this handler and its battery charger. This work was sponsored by the Department of Energy/Office of Safeguards & Security (DOE/OSS) as part of the overall Sandia Fixed Facility Physical Protection Program.
