Environmental Monitoring During Constructîon of the Miamisburg Solar and Fishing Ponds

This study was an integral part of the Solar Pond construction activities in the Miamisburg Community Park. It provides reassurance that there was no significant risk to the health and safety of the construction workers, or to park visitors, from potential radiation exposures.nShort-term (8-hr) and long-term (168-hr) air samples were collected and analyzed for plutonium-2 38, plutonium-239, and total suspended particulates. The short-term sampling was conducted only during periods of construction activity in the pond area. The long-term monitoring, however, had been and continues to be a part of Mound's normal environmental monitoring program, and is conducted on a continuous 24-hr/day, 7-day/week basis.
