Evaluation of Double Theodolite PIBAL Tracking Data

This report contains a geometrical and statistical analysis of the problem of evaluating double theodolite pibal tracking data. It is shown that the so called line-minimizing method is very attractive, and by making use of elementary statistics, realistic estimations of the inherent random errors are made. Short discussion of nonrandom errors, corrections and what one really measures conclude the theoretical part, whereupon some results and tests are presented.
