LLL Data Acquisition System for Liquified Gaseous Fuels Program

A data acquisition system is being developed by EG and G, Inc., and the Electronics Engineering Department of LLL for use during upcoming liquefied natural gas (LNG) dispersion tests. The system will employ 51 battery-powered complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) data acquisition units to measure gas concentration, wind direction and speed, temperature, humidity, and heat flux. Data acquired by the CMOS data acquisition units will be telemetered via UHF radio links to a trailer-based microcomputer command, control, and data recording system (CCDRS). In the CCDRS, wind data will be displayed graphically. All data will be recorded on disk units for subsequent analysis at the Livermore time-sharing system computer facility. (ERA citation 05:017404)
