An account is given of the analysis of activated charcoal for silver, gold, calcium, cobalt, copper, iron, nickel, silicon, and zinc. The method involves fusion of the sample with sodium peroxide, leaching of the fused material with acid, and determination of the analytes by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry and conventional flame atomization. The range of determination varied between 40 mu g/g and 20 000 mu g/g, and the relative standard deviation between 0,002 and 0,09. (Atomindex citation 15:023975)
