Construction of Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project, Units 1 and 2, Docket Nos. 50-522 and 50-523, Puget Sound Power and Light Company, Pacific Power and Light Company, Washington Water Power Company, Portland General Electric Company

Supplement No. 2 to the Safety Evaluation Report for the application filed by Puget Sound Power and Light Co. on behalf of itself, the Pacific Power and Light Co., the Washington Water Power Co., and the Portland General Electric Co. for a construction permit to build the Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project has been issued by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This supplement addresses all of the action items relative to the accident at Three Mile Island Unit 2 that currently must be reviewed. On the basis of the staff's review of the informtion provided by the applicant in its Amendment 22 to the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report, the staff concludes that the information is sufficient to show compliance with the appropriate action items in NUREG-0718. Revision 1, and pending the staff's favorable conclusions of other amendments or revisions to the application, a permit can be issued for the construction of the Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project.
