Evaluation and Conception Method of Fields of Focused Heliostats.

Accurate and efficient models are needed to assess and to conceive fields of focused heliostats having a high concentration ratio. This is why analytical models to calculate flux densities on the aperture plane of a cavity receiver and shadow effects between heliostat, have been built. In order to evaluate the average yearly performance of a heliostat field, the representation by a ''performance matrix'' is introduced. This modelling allows for a detailed study of the quality of selected locations. The heliostat location is formulated as a quadratic combinatorial problem, and some techniques of resolution are described. Then, parametric analysis provides a help for the heliostat field conception problem. (ERA citation 09:030541)
