An improved numerical convection algorithm is used in the Eulerian wavecode CSQII to calculate the mass, momentum, internal energy, and kinetic energy fluxes between the Eulerian cells. The algorithm assigns a linear intra-cell distribution to a convected quantity. A monotonicity scheme is used to inhibit non-physical oscillations. Theoretical analysis and example calculations indicate a dramatic improvement in resolution is possible. (ERA citation 07:044919)
