The methods proposed in this report take advantage of the fact that nuclear power plants have many features in common. The functions and configuration of safety systems, and the types of components used in the systems are similar for different plants. Modular fault trees to represent the fundamental fault logic for many commonly occurring nuclear power plant features were developed.
