摘要

Strong transitions to high-lying neutron states are observed in the study of the sup 116 Sn, sup 118 Sn, sup 120 Sn( alpha , sup 3 He) reactions at 183 MeV incident energy. The empirical systematics indicate that they arise from neutron stripping to high-spin outer subshells (1hsub(9/2) and 1isub(13/2). The strength distributions show a transition from line fragmentation to line broadening as one goes away from the N = 82 shell closure, a feature already observed in the case of deeply-bound neutron hole states in the Sn isotopes.
