Progress is reported on the following tasks: design of receiver-reactors for solar chemical heat-pipe application, solar radiation dependent degradation in solar energy related materials, system design studies for central receiver applications, thermochemical cycles for energy storage, passive latent heat storage, chemical storage and release of energy from small molecules, and a high heat flux solar receiver incorporating liquid jet cooling.
