Quality Control Analysis of TA-23 Glass Seals for Lithium Ambient Temperature Batteries

This study shows that large variations in glass composition, which severely reduces corrosion resistance, cannot be detected by measurements of physical properties. Chemical analyses are required to qualify a glass. Modest variations in the sealing and annealing temperatures do not affect the strength or corrosion resistance of the seal. (ERA citation 09:028482)
