Great Plains Gasification Plant Project. Environmental, Health and Safety Information: Requirements, Uses, and Benefits

This report provides an overview of the environmental, health, and safety (EH and S) programs and associated data from the Great Plains Gasification Plant (GPGP) project, a pioneering effort in the development of advanced technology for the environmentally acceptable conversion of coal to synthetic fuels. As such, it is intended to serve as a source of information about the EH and S activities conducted pursuant to Section 402 of Exhibit E of the Loan Guarantee Agreement between the Department of Energy and the Great Plains Gasification Associates, and to provide the public, industry, regulatory groups, and the research and development community with an example of a comprehensive EH and S program for synthetic fuels projects.
