摘要

9-Octadecenylamine (Z) (oleylamine) was assessed for mutagenicity in plate assays with Salmonella typhimurium strains TA1535, TA1537, TA1538, TA100, and TA98 in the presence and absence of Aroclor 1254-induced rat liver homogenate. Tests were conducted at 10 concentrations of test material, ranging from 10 to 10,000 ug/plate. Positive, negative, and solvent (acetone, 50 ug/plate) controls were also tested. No evidence of mutagenic activity was seen at any concentration of test material. A chromosomal aberration assay was conducted with Chinese hamster ovary cells exposed to concentrations of 0.05, 0.15, 0.5, or 1.5 nl/ml of test material in the absence of exogenous metabolic activation, and to concentrations of 0.6, 2, 6, or 20 nl/ml in the presence of Aroclor-induced rat liver homogenate. Under the conditions of these tests, oleylamine did not induce chromosome aberrations in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
