摘要

The study of the shock tube pyrolysis of toluene was studied. Initial results show that benzene was the major product at low temperatures. This study is being continued. The concentration profiles of the major products in fuel-rich premixed CH4 /O2 flames have been measured. Optical measurements were performed to measure soot number densities, volume fraction and particle size distributions. We have shown that the increase in the soot volume fraction is due to surface growth and acetylene is the source of carbon involved in this process. 11 refs., 12 figs., 1 tab.
