Need to Do Planning under Uncertainty and the Possibility of Using Parallel Processors for This Purpose

Progress in solving large-scale problems, especially those involving uncertainty, is outlined. Solving stochastic dynamic programs with the aid of parallel processing is discussed. The mathematical structure of deterministic and stochastic planning problems is given. The author stresses the use of these techniques to solve politically relevant planning problems which involve a great deal of uncertainty. 30 refs. (ERA citation 11:039445)
