Exploratory Shaft Studies: The Road to Reasonable Assurance at the Basalt Waste Isolation Project

A method for characterization planning and issue resolution aimed at providing reasonable assurance of site acceptability is presented in terms of the in situ test program planned for the Exploratory Shaft Facility at the Hanford Site.
