Thermal Radiative Properties of Metals at High Temperature: Annual Report to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for the Period 20 October 1986 to 30 September 1987

The principal aims of this research program are two-fold. The first is to develop apparatus and techniques for the detailed and reliable measurement of the optical constants of molten metals under highly controlled and documented surface conditions. The second is to make such measurements on a number of metals of technical interest to LLNL which will allow reliable radiative heat transfer calculations to be made in several applications of interest to LLNL.
