Communication paradigms for message-based multicomputer systems

The structure of the message communication scheme has a critical impact on the performance of message-based multicomputer systems. In such systems, communication paradigms must be very efficient and flexible. In this paper, we present a multi-layer message communication paradigm based on the port construct. We also present the prototyping environment in which the proposed communication paradigm is implemented, and an experiment executed using the environment. 2 refs., 2 figs.
