Simple Ohm's law (eta)jparallel = Eparallel is not satisfied in a/2 , are not sufficient to account for (eta)jparallel - Eparallel at the edge. It is implied that current-diffusions due to magnetic fluctuations, carried by fast electrons rather than bulk cold electrons, sustain the edge parallel equilibrium current. (author).
