Metalaxyl (CAS# 57837-19-1) was evaluated for developmental toxicity. Pregnant rats (strain not reported) were dosed with 0, 20, 60, or 120 mg/kg/day of the test material on days 6-15 of gestation. Body weight gain and food consumption were reduced at 60 and 120 mg/kg/day. A slight increase in the number of incompletely ossified 5th sternebrae was observed at 120 mg/kg/day. No other fetal effects were observed. This study was briefly summarized. No further information was reported.
