This report discusses new technologies that provide an efficient means for capturing, storing, and reusing lost energy. America loses vast quantities of thermal energy each year in industrial, commercial, and domestic processes. Thermal energy storage provides a way to shift a portion of the electricity used for heating or cooling to off-peak periods. (JL)
