NATO Joint Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (JWID) 2000

SHAPE desired a more detailed assessment of the NATO JWID 2000 Demonstrations than had been conducted in previous NATO/JWIDs. In the limited time available, the SHAPE JWID Project Officer decided that an assessment focused on NATO Headquarters (HQ) and the NATO C3 Board (NC3B) and its sub structure would be the most productive for NATO JWID 2000. Another impetus to conducting an assessment was the need to obtain funding for JWID which required that a 'value added' be shown. The SHAPE JWID Project Office approached The U.S. National Expert's Office (USNATEX) for support in the assessment of the demonstrations. SHAPE and the USNATEX negotiated a level of effort and a set of products to be developed and delivered. These products included documentation of an overall approach to the assessment and the assessment strategy as well as correlation of the demonstrations to the Defense Capability Initiative Action Items (DCIAls1) and the NATO C3 Board Goals and Objectives2. The effort also included support for the analysis of the assessment results and support for the development of a final report. The evaluation addresses those demonstrations hosted by NATO at SHAPE.
