Predator Force Structure Changes at Indian Springs Air Force Auxiliary Field, Nevada Environmental Assessment

The U.S. Air Force, Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC) proposes to add up to 48 medium- and high-altitude (MQ-1 and MQ-9) Predator unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the current inventory of 40 Predators at ISAF AF. The proposal would also construct new facilities, upgrade existing facilities, add 400 feet to Runway 13/31 and increase personnel. Four alternatives, including the No-Action Alternative, were analyzed in detail in the environmental assessment (EA). The proposed mix of UAVs at ISAFAF for each alternative is presented below. Personnel changes would vary depending on the alternative: an increase of 101 personnel under Alternative A, an increase of 143 personnel under Alternative B, a reduction of 560 personnel under Alternative C, and no personnel changes under the No-Action Alternative. A total of 30 construction projects to support the bed down, including a 400 foot extension of Runway 13/31 at ISAFAF and new munitions support structures at Nellis Air Force Base (NAFB) would be accomplished under Alternatives A and B. Under Alternative C, seven construction projects at ISAF AF, including the extension of Runway 13/31 would occur. No construction would occur under the No Action Alternative.
